It was a beautiful morning kayak on Upper Kananaskis lake in Alberta. Icy cold, I remember my hands were frozen when I took off my gloves to capture photographs. It -18 with the wind chill, and we were the only ones out there in the middle of an eerie misty lake. It was absolutely stunning and chillingly quiet as falling snow absorbed sound.
